The taste is notably rich and exceedingly sweet, making it an excellent choice for both fresh consumption and drying. This variety produces two crops a year, with the primary harvest occurring in April. A smaller, lighter crop, known as the breba crop, also appears in December. Although the December yield is significantly less abundant, it still provides a delightful early taste of these delicious figs.

Originally the trees were growing on Ohakana Island in the Ohiwa Harbour. The peaches had been widespread and significant in the area and on the other islands. We named them Te Kooti as Te Kooti spent the end of his life living on one of the islands. Producing a small to medium sized peach, with honey coloured skin and red blush. The creamy white flesh is firm, juicy and delicious with red tinges around stone. A freestone variety that is known for it's heavy crops. It is quite similar to, and possibly a version of, the River peach. It is known to be a very healthy, strong growing variety.

The berries are large, sweet of good flavour and relatively firm. It is a suitable variety for the warmer northern districts north of Waikato. A somewhat branching, semi-upright bush that produces very early yields of moderate sized fruit. Is resistant to stem canker. Needs approximately 500 – 600 hours of chilling.
