(NH-Northern Highbush)

Duke is a Northern Highbush variety with a bushy upright deciduous shrub to 2m tall, with small oval leaves turning red and yellow, and cylindrical creamy-white flowers. It is ready earlier than other variety with berries starting in Late November and running through to early January. They are medium sized, light blue, firm and mild tasting. It does require a high-chill climate so is best grown south of Waikato, and is vigorous, spreading and produces good crops.

Best pollinated with Nui and Reka.
