Merton's Russet is an all purpose apple with russeted yellow skin and firm, sweet, crisp flesh. Originating in the United Kingdom in 1921, it is a tart and aromatic apple with tender skin and juicy flesh. A Sturmer Pippin crossed with a Cox's Orange Pippin it is a userful apple for fresh eating, juicing or to make cider.
