Braeburn is a New Zealand apple which was released in 1952. It is now one the world’s top commercial selections. It has delicious, crisp, juicy flesh and superb sweet-tart flavour with a noticeably aromatic aftertaste. A handsome apple with red stripes on a red blush. Excellent keeper if refrigerated. Late season. Requires 700 chilling hours to set fruit. Spur bearing, but partial tip bearer so not recommended for espalier. It is well loved due to it's usefulness for fresh eating, cooking, drying, juicing or cider making.
